Donkoan Hwang

Donkoan Hwang joined the Nuclear Engineering & Engineering Physics Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a Research Associate in November 2024. His experience encompasses a wide range of specialized areas in nuclear engineering and thermal hydraulics. Dr. Hwang has worked on plant-scale experimental projects for a research reactor and has developed a one-dimensional thermal-hydraulic system code. Additionally, he contributed to the creation of an electric joule heating system capable of generating high heat flux (up to 10 MW/m2) for testing a one-side heated cooling channel, applicable for the divertor of fusion reactors. He has also conducted analytical modeling on thin liquid film drainage for the lifetime of a surface mini bubble.
